This was a very entertaining read. The hero was great and it was easy to feel sympathy for his situation. Likewise, our heroine was a very sympathetic character and given the time in which this story was written, she was dealt with far easier than most women who failed to produce a child would have been in her position. The supporting cast of characters was well developed and added to the story. I would recommend this to others, the historical detail and the characters themselves were engaging and captivating. It was easy to lose myself in the description of the time and places in which this story took place.Product details

Enjoyable story of Highland romance with an engaging and page turning plot. Isabelle was a sympathetic heroine with a strong constitution who suffered abuse by her first husband. Ban was a brave warrior who suffered the great loss of most of his family and his heart was hardened because of it. These two lost souls find their paths crossing on their journey forward...here is a story of building trust and finding love after loss and pain. A well written tale that I thoroughly enjoyed. Will be looking for more from Joanna Fulford in the future.

I enjoyed this story and I will read this author again. So I look forward to reading the next story
Pretty much a perfect Highlander read (the cover doesn't look very Scottish), had all the elements I like. Started out a bit strange with a secret betrothal, but everything fell into place - Sympathetic Hero and Heroine - check. Sexual tension and the right amount of sex (hot but not too much) - check. Good Happy ever after ending - check. Will look for more books by this author.
