This book comes out of an exercise I was given in my woman’s circle — to spend 5 minutes a day meditating with a photo of each of my grandmothers, asking them for guidance.
As I sat with the spirits of these remarkable women each day, my pen moving rapidly across the page, they offered up their stories, wisdom and advice in the most loving way imaginable.
Early on, I knew that something extraordinary was happening, and I also knew that their experiences and their guidance from beyond was something people everywhere could benefit from. In a unique diary format, I posed a question each day and received answers that helped me to redefine my life and my path. Foremost in my mind throughout this journey was the question, “How can this benefit others?”
Through their own stories and through their wisdom from the realms of love in which they now dwell, they covered topics such as
- Finding your own voice and using it
- Learning to love yourself just as you are right now
- Working to overcome resistance and procrastination
- Dealing with change and transition in a graceful way
- Manifesting your life from a place of power
For those people who are in the process of “no longer playing small” this book is medicine for the soul. It contains the wisdom I wish I would have known and spoken throughout my life. It is the second chance for my grandmothers (and all women) to have their voices heard.

Wisdom of the Grandmothers is wonderful! I learned from Jean and her grandmothers, Hazel and Rose. It was delightful to spend time with them in this reading and hear the wisdom of love from beyond. Truly, this is a beautiful tribute and shows the struggles we all must face against fear and resistance to change. Compassion for each other and the world comes shining through!
I just completed this book and loved it. Reading it even gave me chills at times. I was close to my grandmothers and love the idea that I can continue to connect with their wisdom and love through prayer and meditation.
I found this book to be both well written and very relatable to where I am in my spiritual journey. At various points in the book, the wisdom being shared by the grandmothers profoundly touched my heart and reminded me that we do not make this journey alone. I enjoyed the book so much that I have purchased another and given it as a gift.
This book is really amazing in that the advice from Jean's Grandmothers is advice that is applicable to anyone. It's what I needed to hear at this time! It's such a thoughtfully written book and one I will read again in the future. I know it's what my grandmothers would tell me if they were talking to me. Profoundly moving and meaningful!
I found this book to be helpful, honest and a way to start to look within myself. I was also reminded of how important it is to cherish relationships and wisdom you receive now. This book reminded me that we all have wisdom and need to just open our hearts to receive it. One of the byproducts of this amazing book is I was reminded of all the love and lessons I received from my grandmother growing up. I was unable to put the book down once I started and made for a delightful time that led to many epiphanies. I would highly recommend reading this book and being open to receiving the gifts of wisdom and love.
As a man I was surprised at the relevence of the material to me.
Above all the book moved smoothly forward and was an interesting and productive read.
I've actually read it twice to delve more into the information thaty spoke to me.
On a personal level the Grandmothers reminded me of my own ....who passed many years ago and of all the relatives
that have passed She helps me focus on some of the others, still doing her job.

This book is very well written and is a wonderful depiction of one woman's spiritual journey and her rich relationship with her life's purpose both in past lives and in her current life. It is a thoughtful look at how we can and should overcome our fears and obstacles and listen to the ancestral voices - how we each have a purpose and how important it is to live a mindful life
